I started my blog in March 2022, and wrote 22 posts over 10 months in English (9) and Japanese (13).
While it was fun, once people started subscribing, I felt iffy about writing in two languages. A few subscribers might be fluent in both English and Japanese, but most wouldn’t be able to enjoy half the posts, or half of the email-only content.
It’s like having two groups of players asking me for recommendations:
the die-hard 1.e4 camp
the die-hard 1.d4 camp, and all I can do is give them either 1.e4 or 1.d4 lines (even I don’t know which first move it will be) where half of the PGN file is corrupt.
Life is short, so for blogging, I’ve decided to focus on English since I enjoy it more.
Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll repost/rewrite a few posts from the past 10 months, but after that, I’ll start publishing new content.
I’ve loved chess for as long as I can remember, and although I’m much less experienced in writing, it’s one of the things which make me feel the most alive.
My main motivation for writing, apart from selfish ones, is that someone reading my words, somewhere in the world, will find them helpful, interesting, funny or enjoyable.
See you soon.
Hi! Love the few articles I read. I wouldn't mind making a small one-time payment like I did with some other chess contents out there, but 'pledging my support', i.e. having to continuously keep track of continuous recurring payments, is too much stress for me.
