Personally I love endgames. I'm not exactly a very strong endgame player per se, I'm only 1700 USCF. But I still like them for exactly the reasons you (or RB Ramesh) laid out: You don't need an advantage, just a little belief. A bit of imbalance and patience and you can extract a lot of play out of an endgame.
Agreed, Nick. Just as there are all kinds of people, for chess in a perfect world too, it should mean the endgame should have as many fans as the middlegame and openings, but it doesn't get enough love! Definitely interesting for any player to consider how often they actually reach endgames, whether they consciously/unconsciously go for or avoid them, and how they tend to feel/perform playing endgames in tournaments.
Couldn't agree more with the whole sentiment of this article :). It's unfortunate that it usually takes a couple beatings from stronger players to realize just how rich endgames are (at least in my experience).
Thanks Sam! Also need to play endgames with decent time to think regularly enough to be able to play well in games, so probably good to build in some endgames to training too, both theoretical and practical.
If you ever expand to an endgames series on your channel, will be looking forward to '20 Ideas Every Player Defending a rook endgame vs. f- and h-pawns' :-D

I have to admit, my theoretical endgames need a lot of work - so I would probably be the one who needs that video haha.
But yeah, I was actually talking with Sterling recently, and we were talking about sparring some of the positions in this book 'Sharp Endgames'.
